Southdown Homes was very good this year and asked for an early present – a visit from Santa. Santa took some time out of his busy schedule and arrived at Hideaway Farms on December 7 so that he could take requests from all of the well-behaved and polite children who live in our Southdown Homes communities. While he was here, he double-checked his directions to all of the new homes we’ve built this year so he and his trusty team of reindeers will be able to find their way.

New York Times New-Home Sales and Prices of New Homes Graphs
The media is buzzing with good news for New Home Sales. Even with increasing mortgage rates, the pace of new home sales has continued to grow. An 8.3% increase was posted in June, the highest level recorded since May 2008. Single family home sales are 38.1% higher than they were only a year ago in June 2012.
According to a Reuters article published by the New York Times, positive new home sales along with increased factory activity may point to third quarter economic growth.
At Southdown Homes we are experiencing the direct impact of our improving economy. For example, Hideaway Farms in Downingtown, Chester County has had 22 sales to date in 2013.
With low inventories of new homes pushing prices higher, still-low mortgage interest rates and an improving economy, buyers looking for the best values are jumping into the market.
